Hello Fresh – Dinner #3

This is the final of three – a series of dinner reviews of the popular meal delivery service, Hello Fresh. I have been eye’ing these companies for a while now, and recently decided to give a couple of them a try!  So….. here’s dinner #3 – Carmelized Pineapple with Monterey Jack Cheese and Red Cabbage Slaw.

Here is what it’s supposed to look like:

Truthfully, this one sounded labor intensive…and, I almost didn’t choose it, but I figured if this trial was going to be REAL, I needed to step outside my comfort zone a bit.

Here are the ingredients:

Here is my finished product:  Sooo colorful & pretty!!

Summary –

The Pros: Juicy burgers, tasty pineapple-onion topping.  The slaw was really tasty with white-wine vinagrette.  This was really simple to prepare.  Look about 25 minutes from start to finish.

The Cons: My family just doesn’t like mayo & there was supposed to be mayo on the burgers and in the slaw.  I added about a tablespoon to the slaw, but omitted the spread on the burgers.  Yuck.  We would have preferred whole wheat buns.  No other complaints!
