Homemade Taco Seasoning

img_6056Those convenient packets in the store sure are tempting, but they are crazy-full of sodium!  Try this version and you will be hooked!  Takes only a few minutes, and you will have taco seasoning ready to go for your quick weeknight meals!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder

Mix all ingredient together.  Store in air-tight container in the pantry.  Use approximately 1 tablespoon per pound of meat or whatever food you’re adding the seasoning to (beans, butternut squash…. the possibilities are endless!)
